Spring walk around Italian Clerkenwell

The Angel Association Early Spring Walk is on Wednesday 18th March 2015. The walk is called “Il Quartiere – Tales from Italian Clerkenwell”.

From the 1820s to the 1950s the streets around Saffron Hill in Clerkenwell were known as Il Quartiere – London’s Italian Quarter – where generations of migrants made London their home. Using oral histories collected by Olive Besagni, newspaper cuttings and old photographs, Islington Guide Rob Smith will tell stories of love, bravery, crime and friendship on this one and a half hour historical walk.

Meet at Farringdon Station at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start.

£6 per person. Please bring the exact money on the night.

Numbers will be limited to 20.

After the walk we will go to a local pub for a drink.
